Alchemy Electronic File
Cabinet Sample Configuration
A small Mortgage Brokerage
office with 10-25 employees might require the
following configuration:
This system is perfect for the
small company who wishes to maintain and
operate their own document management system
with a single records manager. The company
using this system might generate about 500 to
1000 sheets of paper per day. Your paper
documents could be scanned as they are
generated or as they go to archive. Electronic
documents like Word and Excel documents can be
built right into databases as well.
This configuration would be
considered a small installation. This
electronic file cabinet would not be under any
server controls or restrictions. This system is
intended for a small office where one person
handles all input and database management
tasks. Read only access to the database is
distributed to a small Windows workgroup. Two
Alchemy Search Clients could search the
database simultaneously. This setup simply
takes the place of a file cabinet system and
replaces it with something far more
efficient.
This document management system
has support for over 200 PC file formats and
can be searched by up to 25 users (Search
licenses sold separately.) Repositories can be
password protected at the repository, folder or
even the document level. All documents in the
repository are kept within secure container
files that are not accessible outside of
Alchemy.
Documents can be added to this
system by the optional modules such as Alchemy
Scan Station or DataGrabber Runtime. The Drag
and Drop interface to add PC files to the
archive is standard. The Alchemy scan station
allows you scan directly into the database
while the DataGrabber Runtime module allows you
pull data in from other imaging packages such
as Kofax, Anydoc, Cartiff and many more.
Alchemy repositories are fully
scalable and can be upgraded at any time. This
is one of the most cost effective file
management systems you will find anywhere. This
electronic file cabinet can be installed and
operational in just a few hours. If your file
room is a mess and your compliance officer is
pulling their hair out, this is your solution.
Inexpensive, easy to use, minimal training
costs, and scalable what else could you ask
for?
This type of system, not
including the cost of the scanner would be
under $10,000.
A typical scanner that would go
with this system would be a Fujitsu 5650
production scanner. The cost of this scanner is
about $5,000.
